Who We Are

In 1984, Dr Barazi, a dentist with an extraordinary passion for the art of flavor. embarked on a venture called “Somer” that fused middle eastern and Asian spices to form an innovative twist on a classic chicken tikka. Decades later in 2019 dr Barazi’s culinary journey continued with the inception of “ beizat” a franchise that would redefine middle eastern classics such as the falafel. He reimagined this staple and introduced a fresh perspective.

The falafel, evolved into bite size wonders called “falafel nuggets” they were now smaller and crispier creating a delightful texture that could be very addicting thus they became a signature dish at Beizat. With beizats success, dr barazi and investors set their sights on Greece, giving rise to “tragana” which means “crispy” in Greek. Tragana brought the magic to Athens, opening 4 branches with the dreams to expand to the islands and beyond. It included the now famous falafel nuggets in its menu and a new reinvention of the lahmajoun, a beloved favorite of the Middle East, dr barazi took a bold step by using a tortilla base instead of the classic dough and infused its filling with unique spices such as sumac, Syrian paprika and pomegranate molasses.
As tragana flourishes it stands as a testament to dr Barazi’s journey to redefine middle eastern cuisine.
